Fresh Hope Care’s annual Excellence in Service Awards were celebrated at Oatlands House on Friday, November 2, 2018. Guests enjoyed canapes overlooking the golf course, followed by a delicious sit-down lunch and dessert. Thirteen employees and three volunteers were recognised for their invaluable service and provision of high quality care.

Congratulations to Lisa Levett, Home Care Northern NSW who won the Excellence in Service Award and to Jean Connor, Coffs Haven Residential Care Service who won the Volunteer of the Year Award. Both Lisa and Jean go above and beyond when caring for those we serve and their outstanding contributions to Fresh Hope Care are greatly appreciated. Each winner was awarded a $3500 travel voucher.

One woman who nominated Lisa said that she could not speak highly enough of her attitude, compassion and standards, noting “what she has done for me makes me feel safe”.

An employee who nominated Jean said, “Jean is always polite and kind. She genuinely cares for our residents and is very empathetic”.

Lisa remarked how surprised she was and how wonderful it feels to be recognised for doing something you love, “I just love helping people… I always have, it’s so rewarding”.

Jean was also surprised and thankful. She is moving away at the end of the year and will have to move on from her position as a volunteer at Fresh Hope Care Coffs Haven. Jean said, “I have loved every moment of it. I’m not sure it’s right to be awarded for something you love doing and look forward to going to so much. I love the little bit of help and company I can give. It’s been so wonderful”.
