Not for profit Residential Aged Care Service provider Fresh Hope Communities has announced the sale of The Glen Residential Care Service to the award winning not for profit Goodwin Aged Care Services.
The CEO of Fresh Hope Communities, Daniel Dwyer, said the sale was a “great outcome” for residents, families, staff and the broader community, with another high-quality non-profit organisation continuing to operate the service, providing continuity for residents and employees.
“Goodwin Aged Care Services knows the Batemans Bay community well, as it operates a local retirement living and assisted living facility, The Manor, and offers home care to the surrounding areas. It has provided high-quality residential aged care, retirement living and in-home care services in Canberra and regional areas since 1954 and shares our commitment to delivering excellent care based on dignity and respect,” Mr Dwyer said.
“We are very proud of what we have achieved with the support of our dedicated staff since purchasing The Glen almost a decade ago.
“Now we believe the time is right to allow the service to grow and thrive under a new organisation that can continue to invest and maintain the focus on delivering the highest standards of care.”
Daniel shared Fresh Hope Communities has been briefing residents and families and employees and assuring them of the stringent safeguards as part of the sale.
“Residents have security of tenure, and their resident agreements continue, so they cannot be asked to leave the service or pay more. Employees will be offered roles with Goodwin Aged Care Services,” he said.
Fresh Hope Communities will continue to manage the service as usual during the transition, with Goodwin Aged Care Services expected to take over from 31 January 2023.
