Living Care’s 2015 Excellence In Service Awards were held on Friday 20th November at the Deckhouse in Woolwich. The annual event celebrates those staff who “go the extra mile” in providing excellent care to consumers and residents at Living Care. Fourteen shortlisted nominees from across the organisation were recognised for their outstanding work and six finalists were announced.
Congratulations to the winner of the 2015 Excellence In Service Award, Clare Lewis from Woodlands Residential Care Service. Clare works at a level which is consistently above and beyond her call of duty, displaying a caring attitude towards residents, relatives and other members of the team.
Chris Powell (Ministry Team Chair), Clare Lewis and Graham Reed (Executive Director).
Clare has been working at Woodlands Residential Care Service as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse for twenty years and it is clear that she is very passionate about her work. Clare describes Woodlands as a big family and notes that from the moment she first stepped through the front door, she has felt welcomed by everyone.
Clare’s caring nature is evident through the way she talks about the individuals who live at Woodlands.
“I always tell them how beautiful and important they are. I am there for them when they need me and I always take the time to have one on one time with each of them. The residents also give me so much joy, as I see them challenging themselves and taking on new projects.”
Clare had a wonderful time at the event and she said,
“It is a wonderful honour and I feel really humbled to have received the award. Living Care is a fantastic organisation and the Christian element makes it very special – I am very proud to work here. I have only ever worked at Woodlands, so I didn’t quite realise how big the organisation is and I had a wonderful time meeting people from all the different services.”
It was a great day celebrating the wonderful contribution made by Living Care Employees.
